2020 started off just like any other year. We came back from our holiday break ready to roll with exciting new planned programs and events. Just like the rest of the world, everything drastically changed in March 2020.
With the sudden rise of Covid-19, our day program had to temporarily close its doors. This was sad and difficult for all of our members, their families and the staff. Luckily our admin team was able to create a temporary solution, we converted our planned programs to be done through Zoom, Facebook Live and Youtube tutorials. We were able to share and connect through our private social media page. The staff worked hard to stay connected with our members and create accessible and engaging digital activities.
“Everyone was so happy when TOZ reopened in August”
We were able to open our doors again at the beginning of August, with diligent preparation and safety procedures to ensure our program was coherent with the necessary standards. Annabelle and Rebecca created Safe Six videos that we watched daily to always keep the safety guidelines in mind. Wearing masks, hourly hand washing, social distancing and regular cleaning schedules have become a part of our daily routine. We have continued to offer our programs digitally, so that those at home can access the content.
We are so proud of how innovative, flexible and resilient everyone at TOZ has been over this last year.
